Intervention Program
SAVE has been running  Target Intervention  on HIV /AIDs  project on Female Sex Workers in Sangam Vihar of South Delhi. So far we have registered more than 800 FSWs who are HIV prone population and approximately 0.8% population are HIV effected which is really a matter of concern. However our effective team work has started showing good impact in the project. However the target population requires continuous counseling and further intervention.

Counseling Centre provide free service for the targeted FSWs & other stakeholders, whom we motivate through our outreach workers.
Capacity Building
Another very important component is capacity building under which we ensure that everybody either beneficiaries or educators must have well equipped with knowledge on the issue. SAVE conducts various training programmes, orientations and participatory quiz, games and workshops to enhance the knowledge of the audience as well as to train the volunteers & staff.  SAVE organizes capacity building sessions/ workshops at various (following) levels:
  • Training for trainers (NGO staff & volunteers);
  • Trainings for target group;
  • Training for Peer Educators;
  • Training for private health care providers;
  • Basic orientation for important stakeholders.

World AIDS Day
SAVE organizes World AIDS Day as AIDS Jagrukta Mela every year. This is organized on December 1st at Sangam Vihar, South District of Delhi. Messages about HIV/AIDS are given through various ways like Street Corner Play, Magic Show, Speech, Dance, AIDS Awareness March, Song, Games, Talks, Condom Demonstration, distribution of resource materials, video show and quiz among youth. Community Leaders and NGOs working in and around the area participate in the event for making it successful. Following are the main attractions of the Mela:

Position: Outreach Worker (ORW)- 1 position Salary: Rs.7500 per month + 1125 (TA) (as per prescribed guideline DSACS) Job Location: Ashram, Delhi Qualification & Experience:  At least 8th standard or above qualification.  Experience of working as community worker/ peer educator and/or understanding of issues concerning FSW.  Candidates belonging to High Risk Group (HRG) community, so far as HIV/AIDS is concerned, will be preferred.
